J.03 - AM I HUMAN?

Hello all!

As we approach the final days of this campaign, I just wanted to say that I am very pleased with how this project has went! My built audience came solely from Tabletop Roleplaying Games, so seeing that I have been able to drum up this much interest in a graphic novel series has been awesome to witness. I thank God for you all!

So what is the current state of the campaign? As of right now, we are just north of $150 from funding & getting this bad boy officially printed. I believe with my whole chest that this thing is gonna slide across the finish line just fine.

To all my fellow creators for Printopia 2025, I want to congratulate you on a job well done! Doing something creative like this & putting yourself out there is no easy task & I applaud all of your for your efforts. It's been fun to be apart of such a supportive group!

To those that wish to watch how I am putting this thing together you should head on down to my Twitch page where I draw, ink, color, letter, and do the whole general thing as a one man army!

The book itself is coming along just fine, I'm currently drawing chapter 3 out of 5! I hit a little rough patch on some panels because I wasn't sure how exactly I wanted to layout the scene, but I finally got it figured out and having been trucking right along!

Currently I am on my laptop or else I would show you some more finished pages, soon I hope to throw a few more yall's way. I'm pretty proud of it so far & I think yall will enjoy it!

Hey everybody!

Cory here from Gridlock Studios, doing a little update on the Backerkit campaign! We are almost 50% funded, which is a win in my opinion since most of the audience I’ve accrued are tabletop gamers. There’s still plenty of time to back the project & reserve your copy!

Here’s a little more background on the project, a little “behind the scenes” for you!

I actually wrote the first two chapters several years ago. And as many of you know that are creators, often times you’ll go back and look at the things you made & slightly (or greatly) cringe at how bad it was.

Well I came across it a few months back, read through it and thought “ya know…this is still pretty good!”. I’ve always wanted to be a cartoonist in some form, whether it be animation or comics. Cartoons are my favorite thing to draw! 

So I toyed with making this into either an animated series or a comics, and since my background is already in publishing I settled on making a graphic novel.

Making this has been a challenge & a blast, and I’m sure that you all will love it! Telling stories has always been near to my heart, and doing it in this way has been a great outlet for me. 

So let me know, would yall like to know more about the story? Or would yall like to see some of the early concept art for this project? I’ll probably scan it and add it in the book.
